Reviews and Ratings
The hotel had cozy rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and the breakfast was substantial and dog-friendly. The service was attentive and friendly, and the location was excellent for exploring the village and nearby attractions. Dining options were varied and well-cooked, setting you up for the day.
I stayed in the annex across a stone courtyard from the pub, which was really nice. The single room had everything I needed - tea, coffee, biscuits, shampoo, shower gel; everything was made ready. The location was excellent in the village, quiet and perfect for a relaxing stay. The service was friendly and accommodating, catering to my early work start with poached eggs on toast at 0730. The dining experience, although with a good choice of food, lacked attention to detail at times. Overall, a cozy place with a homely feel, great for a quiet getaway.
The hotel is nicely situated in the village, offering easy access to local attractions, but there was a persistent smell of cleaning materials that bothered me. The rooms, accessed through the charming courtyard, were immaculately clean with generous tea and coffee supplies, although a bit of a trek to get to. The service, especially during the evening meal, was exceptional, and the new addition to the team has been a strong asset for dog owners visiting the Inn. The location is excellent, perfect for exploring Ripon and other nearby sights, with a good-sized and comfortable bed to rest in. The food quality was good, and the Yorkshire Dales and the nearby arboretum provided excellent natural escape. However, the smell of polish or cleaning products affected my comfort, and the food was standard without many vegetarian options.
